Mass balance. A garden hose with a nozzle on the end is used to fill a 10 gallon bucket. The inner diameter of the hose is 2 cm and the inner diameter of the nozzle is 0.8 cm. If it takes 50 seconds to fill the bucket with water, determine (a) the volumetric flow rate of water through the hose and nozzle, (b) the mass flow rate of water through the hose and nozzle, and (c) the velocity of water through the hose and nozzle. The density of water is 1000 kg/m3.
