data show rents and some other data for student

Data show rents and some other data for student housing around the Ann Arbor campus of the University of Michigan.

1. Use Excel to calculate the correlations between variables. What variables do you expect to be correlated with each other?

2. Choose the variables and use best model to predict rent. Write the regression equation and interpret it. (Using the t and F test and R2 statistics, test the significance of slope coefficients and goodness of fit)

3. Examine the charts and correlation tables. Do men or women pay (on average) higher rents? How can you tell?

4. Are Ann Arbor landlords discriminating against women students by charging them higher rent?
