Problem: Responding to your discussion post Data Management in Research, Quality Improvement and Evidence-Based Practice As nursing care continues to evolve to improve care, the healthcare system will need to rely on research to implement safe patient care. In healthcare, deficits are identified once they become a persistent issue. Falls have been an ongoing issue in healthcare. Some falls resulted in serious injuries and even death. The article by Bangura discusses an intervention designed to reduce falls among veterans in a long-term care facility. Even though the methods behind Quality Improvement (QI), research, and EBP differ, they share commonalities, which include advancing the quality of care, teamwork, and cohesive problem-solving (Bangura, 2024). When analyzing the issues with falls, it was concluded that the research, QI, and the DNP project faced a common gap. What I identified as a common gap is the relationship between rounding on patients and their connection to patient falls. The research article by Tzeng, H. M., & Yin, C.Y. (2017) identified multiple knowledge gaps, but the mentioned intervention involved increasing staff vigilance, including enhanced patient observation. The survey was conducted in inpatient hospital settings. Several interventions were evaluated, but no single intervention proved to be the most effective. The fall prevention measures identified by the nursing staff primarily targeted improving unsafe conditions in patient. Need Assignment Help?
