Current nursing research


Literature review of 1500 words (+/- 10%).

Formulate one nursing care intervention from their chosen case study & provide evidence based current nursing research to justify or oppose the chosen intervention.

As well as analysing, interpreting and providing evidence based research to support your position, the presentation of a high standard of grammar, punctuation & sentence structure (syntax) is required.

Academic format to read font (Calibri), font size (12 point), spacing (double), margins ( 3 cm) & all pages are to be numbered.

Literature review must be sourced from peer-reviewed journal articles not more than 5 years old. You must have a minimum of 10 articles.

Case study:

Assessment and Management of Patients with Endocrine disorders Diabetes Mellitus

Sallie Smith is 42 years of age and is a female patient who has been recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Since diagnosis she has been non-compliant with her diabetic management. She has now been admitted to the medical ward under your care for management and education of her diabetes mellitus.

• Her weight on admission is 42 kg with a BMI of 17.5
• Her fasting BGL is regularly over 10 mmol/L

My one nursing intervention is to educate my patient.  The education is branched out into self care management, diet and exercise. 

The case scenario or patient’s condition does not need to be mentioned in the literature review.  Require subheadings.
