Assignment: Introduction to Criminology
Theory Paper Assignment
Purpose: To enable the student to conduct a small scale literature review in an effort to become familiar with the state of the literature for a particular criminological theory.
Topic Selection: The student may select any criminological theory that is covered within this course (See chapters 4-9 for consideration of theories that are suitable for this paper).
Literature Review: The student must utilize a minimum of 4 scholarly-peer reviewed journal articles for this assignment. Wikipedia, newspapers and magazines are not scholarly sources and may not be used in completing this assignment.
Suitable peer reviewed journals include, but are not limited to, Criminology, Justice Quarterly, British Journal of Criminology, Deviant Behavior.
Requirements: The paper must contain a minimum of 1500 words, double spaced, with a 12 point Times New Roman font, using a 1 inch margins on all sides.
All citations must be formatted using the current APA citation guidelines.
