Marketing Management----> Given the differentiation between Cost-based and Value-based pricing methodologies, critically review which of them would be more appropriate in the context of e-commerce based retailing of consumer products. Do look firstly at the inherent nature of e-commerce as a new channel of distribution in a developing economy, where purchasing power as well as access to technology may be limited. we have a fair understanding of the differences between the 2 cost models. But wouldn't it also be imperative for the business to earn a profit on every unit of product it sells? Thus, in case the value based approach pegs the selling price under the COGS, what would the company need to do to get the selling price so that a profit is made in the value based approach?
