The mission of Wishes and More is to provide terminally ill children with wishes and assistance to their families ("About Us", n.d.). A vision for this organization would be for all terminally ill children to have an opportunity to have their wishes granted and their families given the assistance they need during that time. Strategic planning could be beneficial to this organization especially when considering the future trends and events the organization could experience (Laureate, 2008). The trends in nonprofit organization has been changing significantly over the last few years especially in terms of technology (Bryson, 2011). Wishes and More uses networking very frequently in order to achieve the various wishes they are presented with. Technology is a great way to network and increase awareness of the organization within the surrounding communities. Strategic planning can be used to find new and creative ways to use technology to their benefit (Laureate, 2008). Another challenge that Wishes & More may come across is planning for resources. Each wish requires a different amount and type of resources that is not easily predicted. By creating a strategic management team the organization may come across new ideas that were unknown before (Laureate, 2008). Both of these aspects of the plan will allow the organization to achieve wishes more efficiently and maybe even create enough resources to achieve more wishes.
