For this discussion, create your own inductive argument. It needs to have more than one premise, and must have a conclusion that follows from those premises.

Be sure to know the difference between deductive and inductive arguments.

In your Initial Post, create your inductive argument. Respond to arguments by identifying the type of inductive reasoning that was used, and discuss why you have identified the reasoning as such.

Here is a small example I use for this assignment:

90% of 1st graders are sick.
John is a 1st grader.
So, John is sick.

This is a STRONG inductive argument. The probability that John is sick is high.

In comparison, look at a weak example:

10% of 1st graders are sick.
John is a 1st grader.
So, John is sick.

This WEAK inductive argument indicates that John is sick, even though there is only a 10% chance of that being true.

Both of these are inductive arguments, with the probability (not certainty) being introduced in the 1st premise.
