Assignment:
In 200 to 250 words, create your personal version of the 'perfect' religion. Write a descriptive essay about your created religion, beginning with a definition of what religion is. Develop at least these major categories:
- beliefs
- moral rules
- holy days
- sacred places
For beliefs, you might want to decide which of the three basic orientations (sacramental, prophetic, or mystical) will be dominant; or you may develop answers to key questions such as:
- Where do we come from?
- What is our purpose?
- What is our ultimate destiny?
- What is the nature of sacred reality?
- How inclusive/exclusive is your religion?
- Holy days and sacred places can be integrated into the exposition.
