Problem:
As a manager of a department at a health care facility, you are part of a committee that is developing a strategic plan for managing the health information systems that are being used by your facility. Research and locate articles and other resources on strategic planning best practices for health information technology/systems. Directions: Compose a 1 page memo addressed to the committee that summarizes the findings from your research. Your memo, at a minimum, must contain the following: The rationale for developing a plan for strategic and tactical planning for health information systems. A minimum of three "best practices" for developing strategic and tactical planning. A recommendation and description of one tool that can be used in the strategic planning process (i.e., SWOT analysis, environmental scan, etc.). A description of which organizational health information systems are considered mission critical and therefore must be available during times of crisis/emergency in some manner (downtime processes, etc.) and how system availability will be announced to organizational staff during such times. Your memo should be professionally written and in the appropriate tone for your audience.
