Create major problems with understanding the past

Problem

To attempt to not only leave put aspects of the past, but even the present to present a different form of history almost seems counterproductive. Although understanding prejudices of the past are important, it is not everything, especially in retelling these tales almost creates an overcompensating dilemma. For certain periods, especially those before the time of Christ, we have little to work with. Therefore, second-guessing these historical documents can create major problems with understanding the past, as you could claim that any form of documentation could be corrupted is this a true and valid statement?
