(a) Create an online group for studying IT or an aspect of IT that you are interested in. Each member of the group must establish a Yahoo! e-mail account (free).
Step 1: Click on "Start Your Group."
Step 2: Select a category that best describes your group (use Search Group Categories, or use the Browse Group Categories tool). Yahoo! will force you to be very specific in categorizing your group. Continue until you see the button: "Place My Group Here."
Step 3: Name your group.
Step 4: Enter your group e-mail address.
Step 5: Describe your group.
Step 6: Select your Yahoo! Profile and e-mail addresses for your group.
Step 7: Now you can customize your group and invite people to join.
Step 8: Conduct a discussion online of at least two topics of interest to the group.
Step 9: Find a similar group (use Yahoo!'s "find a group" and make a connection). Write a report for your instructor.
(b) Now, follow the same steps for Google Groups.
(c) Compare Yahoo! Groups and Google Groups.
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
