Response to the following problem:
This kind of a weird situation but I'm currently writing a script for television about a recently graduated English major who, because of the economy, is forced to work for his town's PUblic Works department where he doesn't fit in at all. What I need help with is that there's a government measure being passed which does away with all overtime. Because of a grammar error, the measure is negated.
What I currently have is: "It is decided that Public Works may not find said overtime inappropriate."
The problem is that the double negative is too easy to spot. I need a sentence with a grammar flaw that is hard to spot so that my lead character can be the hero. It can be a dangling participale or an ill placed comma.
