Poor Project Planning and the Consequences

I would like to comment on my recent experience with a system change that was very poorly executed. The system change is effecting me personally as well as numerous others and I realize that there are so many lessons to be learned about project management. I have thought about this all last night and wish to share with everyone my experience.

The background is that I am a part of a community that has recently changed its system access and has provided new logins and passwords to its members. When this first happened I was somewhat annoyed that this change was forced upon me without asking my opinion or informing me of the change until virtually the day of the change.

One of the first steps in project management is to create a RACI matrix, identifying all key stakeholders and define their level of involvement (Haughey, 2016). Seems to me that as a user of the system my opinion would be essential. By leaving me out of the process I am feeling quite angry as I am now experiencing problems with accessing the system and these problems were preventable had proper project management tools been used.

Do you agree - disagree with the opinion above? Why?
