Assignment: Business Strategy Analysis for Caocao
Caocao is a company like Uber and Lyft in China.
I. Complete a PESTEL analysis.
1. Create a model showing your analysis and attach it at the end of the paper. Include at least 3-4 factors in each category
2. In the paper, discuss a small select group of factors (can be opportunities or threats from any category). You should select factors with potential for the most significant impact. Share your concerns for the impact from these external factors and your recommendations of how the company can be prepared for and reactive to these influences.
II. Complete a five forces analysis of a dominant business segment.
1. Create a model showing the strength of each force based on your research and attach it at the end of the paper.
2. In the paper, discuss which forces have the greatest effect on the attractiveness of the industry/business segment and explain why. Answer how understanding the strength of each force can be beneficial to your company.
III. Complete a VRIO analysis of its most important resources (in the VRIO model, resources are considered intangible resources, tangible resources, competencies, and capabilities).
1. Create a model showing your analysis that includes the outcome of the VRIO decision tree for each resource and attach to the end of your paper. Include at least 6-10 resources in your evaluation
2. In the paper, discuss a small select group of resources that you suggest your company address based on your findings. This can any combination of competitive implications including those that show to be a core competency. Provide your recommendations for strengthening or maintaining the resource. Provide a value chain analysis (primary and support activities) and then explain the type of generic strategy this supports (i.e., differentiation, cost leadership, focus, blue-ocean strategy).
3. Create a value chain model and attach it the end of the paper.
4. In your paper, discuss the most notable inputs to the value chain and how this relates the generic strategy that they employ.
