Homework: Making a Differential Diagnosis
Prior to beginning work on this homework, read Chapter 1: Differential Diagnosis Step by Step in DSM-5: Handbook of Differential Diagnosis and review the same case study you used to write your discussion forums and Homework.
For this homework, you will create a differential diagnosis for the patient in your chosen case. This homework continues the work you started in the discussion forums and the homework. Be sure to follow the instructions in Chapter 1: Differential Diagnosis Step by Step when creating your differential diagnosis. Your homework must include the following:
a) Recommend a diagnosis based on the patient's symptoms, presenting problems, and history.
b) Assess the validity of your diagnosis using a sociocultural perspective.
c) Compare at least one evidence-based and one non-evidence-based treatment option for the diagnosis. Research a minimum of two peer-reviewed sources to support your choices.
d) Propose and provide an explanation for a minimum of two historical perspectives and two theoretical orientations that are inappropriate alternates for the conceptualizations in this case.
Format your homework according to the give formatting requirements:
• The answer must be using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, typed, with one-inch margins on all sides.
• The response also includes a cover page containing the student's name, the title of the homework, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
