Medieval scholars stated that positive law included "commutative justice". This meant that there should be a "just price" established for exchanges of goods and services, and that there must be no "usury" at all (they defined usury as the taking of any interest on loans). Could the principle of "commutative justice" be applied in today's world? Do you think it worked effectively in medieval times to achieve justice? Would it do so in today's world? How would it be structured and enforced?
