Assignment Task: Current Event: Participation & Public Opinion
For current event discussion posts, you can be creative when it comes to finding current event stories--as long as they are at least broadly related to what has been discussed in lecture. Since you cannot control when news happen, I suggest you look at the topics for all of the discussion posts for the class and then keep an eye out for any story related to these topics. Remember your story cannot be more than 6 months old.
Possible topics: voting turnout, any other type of conventional or unconventional participation, public opinion polls, the use of polls
