In your readings for this week the concepts of liberty, rights, and justice are discussed in a myriad of ways. It is safe to assume that Americans hold these ideals to be a fundamental part of our character as a nation.
Considering the current controversies in this nation regarding race and violence (Ferguson, Staten Island, Travon Martin, etc…) discuss how you believe the concepts of liberty, rights, and justice outlined in your readings apply to the current circumstances in the United States.
Be sure to offer your opinions that can be textually supported. You do not have to write about all of these topics but should present ideas of liberty, rights, and justice from your readings to at least one of these current events.
