The Urban Heat Island
The following Table consists of simultaneous temperature measurements taken along a route through a city. Construct a graph (use graph paper and a straight edge, or your computer - do not draw freehand) showing the change in temperature with distance along the route. Explain the relationships between the temperature measurements and the land use as indicated in the Table, making sure to include a discussion on the radiative, energy and water budgets wherever relevant. The discussion should be typewritten, must not be more than 3 paragraphs (on one page) and should be coherent and well reasoned.
