Construct a frequency distribution table

Discussion:

Complete the following for the sets of data in the spreadsheet (all 10 will be found on different sheets in the single file):

a) Construct a frequency distribution table. Be sure to include the frequency, relative frequency, cumulative frequency, and class midpoints. I have provided enough information so that everyone should be able to come up with the same classes for all the problems.

b) Find the mean, median, mode, variance and standard deviation for all of the data sets. Make sure you DO NOT ONLY USE THOSE SPECIFIC EXCEL FORMULAS; be sure to use the techniques that were displayed in class so that I have the opportunity to verify you know what each of the formulae is doing. It IS PERMISSIBLE to use the excel formulae as a check, but that should not be your only answer.

c) For four of the data sets (any four you choose) create and display one of each type of the following charts: pie, line, bar, box and whisker. For the box and whisker graph, be sure to include for that data set the five number summary and the IQR.

d) For all of the data sets, compute the 90th and 27th percentiles. Also, for each data set, find the percentile value for the datum (singular of data) that is 8 places above the median, and for the datum that is 12 places below the median.

e) From each set of data, standardize any 6 scores you choose.
