Students must create appropriate program recommendations, while considering the client current stage of life span development. Students will be provided with the information needed to develop recommendations that are developmentally appropriate. Information may include, assessment results, observation notes, and interviews with stakeholders. Students will identify areas in need of development, define target behaviors, goals for mastery, an intervention protocol, present mock data and results. DB is a 65 year-old Euro-American Male (DOB: 7/22/1939) diagnosed with Psychotic Disorder, Intermittent Explosive Disorder, and Mild mental retardation. He was admitted to Middle Tennessee Mental Health Institute (MTMHI) on August 13, 2001. DB was a victim of sexual abuse at a young age, which reportedly still evokes unpleasant memories. Historically, DB was admitted to Clover Bottom Developmental Center on numerous occasions for psychiatric treatment. He lived at home for several years before attending boarding schools and living in nursing homes. Nursing staff were unable to properly deal with aggressive behavior, resulting in admission to MTMHI. People who know him best say DB is pleasant and enjoys helping others, but will make false statements about others. He is capable of expressing his wants and needs.
