Companies such as Avon or Mary Kay, for example, are essentially fully integrated by controlling the manufacturing, the promotion and distribution of their product through their multi-level marketing force. On the other hand there are countless cosmetic companies that simply manufacture their products and sell them wholesale through retail chains.
