Consider two analgesics derived from salicylic acid

Consider two analgesics derived from salicylic acid: acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) and methyl salicylate (oil of wintergreen, found in muscle relaxants like "BenGay").

i. Draw the structures of these compounds.

ii. Would these two compounds react differently with saturated NaHCO3? Explain.

iii. Propose a synthesis of methyl salicylate, using a synthetic strategy analogous to that used in the synthesis of aspirin: i.e, the reaction of a highly reactive acid derivative, such as an acyl halide and/or acid anhydride, with a hydroxy compound.
