Consider how you encounter fallacies on a regular basis. As you are listening to others speak, for instance, pay attention to see if any of the fallacies are being employed.
For this assignment, find and explain the use of five different fallacies from chapter 3 (ad hominem fallacy, begging the question, slippery slope arguments, hasty generalization, argument from false authority, appeal to pity and popularity, loaded question, straw man fallacy, false cause (post hoc) fallacy, red herring, false dichotomy).
List them, explain where you saw or heard them, how they occurred and in what context, and what you believe was the purpose behind the use of each.
