The research objective is a combination of your topic and goal, or you can view it that way. What is the purpose of your research? What is the goal with your research? What are you wanting to accomplish with your research? When you research, make sure the research objective (the topic to accomplish a goal) is specific, targeted and achievable. Specific means narrowed.
Targeted means you have a distinct idea you are researching. You are seeking information to accomplish a specific goal and your research is targeted to answer specific questions. The specific questions are determined by thinking about your objective and the goal you have with your research.
Make sure your research objective is achievable, meaning the questions you have can actually be answered through your research. Research objectives that have readily available information.
