Assignment Task: Conduct a strategic analysis for the organization that includes the following:

1. Vision and Mission Statement

A. Create vision, mission, and values statements, if they do not currently exist.

B. If the vision and mission statements already exist, then teams should conduct an analysis and comment on the suitability of the vision and mission. If your team determines that the mission and/or vision statements are not appropriate, then the team should suggest a new vision and/or mission.

2. External Analysis

A. Use appropriate strategic analysis tools, which include: Porter's Five Forces analysis, a PESTEL, market analysis, and competitor analysis.

B. Ensure you provide a thorough analysis for each strategic analysis tool.

C. Ensure to indicate a low, medium, or high for each factor in Porter's analysis and provide support for your determination. In addition, the Porter should evaluate the relevant criteria for each of the Five Forces.

D. Generally, each category for the PEST and market analysis should contain a minimum of six factors.

E. Identifying factors is easier when this is done as a team. Ensure you collaborate on this task as a group, and do not overlap/repeat factors in categories.

F. Paragraph form is not necessary. Bullet points are acceptable if there is sufficient description included in the bullet point.

3. Internal Analysis

A. Conduct an internal analysis.

B. Include all relevant functional activities that pertain to the organization. The activities included will depend on the organization.

C. Identify the organization's tangible and intangible resources, and identify the key competitive advantages.

D. Identify and quantify the current performance metrics (financial and operating) for the organization. This information can typically be found in the organization's annual report.

E. Paragraph form is not necessary. Bullet points are acceptable if there is sufficient description included in each bullet point.

4. SWOT

A. Conduct a SWOT analysis. The information collected in the SWOT should contain a minimum of eight factors. The internal analysis and external analysis should be used for the SWOT.

B. Identifying and categorizing factors from the internal and external analysis is easier when it is done as a team. Ensure that you collaborate on this task as a group.

C. Paragraph form is not necessary. Bullet points are acceptable if there is sufficient description included in the bullet point
