Conduct a search for an art controversy

Assignment Task: Conduct a search for an art controversy (from 1960 to the present). Select artwork that interests you for the focus of this assignment. Address all points in the following two parts, using the bold headings, which are also provided in the template, to organize information:

Description: Describe the artwork -- subject, medium, and form.

Pro-Con Analysis: Detail the opposing issues in the controversy. Analyze the pros. Analyze the cons. Be thorough. This will require a good deal of research.

Bias: Is bias involved on either side? Make sure to question the validity of viewpoints. Are facts presented just flat-out inaccurate?

Assumptions: What assumptions were made? This may involve various things like the artist's intent, cost (Who is paying for it?), or sweeping statements like "Nobody wants this..." or "Everybody loves art..." The point is to consider these assumptions as you analyze the pros and cons.

Intent: What was the intent of the artist as far as emotional appeal? (This may be covered when explaining the issues. Do not repeat if already addressed.)
