Conceptualize a case and create a treatment plan

Problem: In counseling or other therapeutic or evaluative settings, identifying the problem is of utmost importance in order to conceptualize a case and create a treatment plan. If a counselor has difficulty identifying the problem, then sessions will not be focused and the counselor is at risk for not helping the client or completing the goals. There are several steps to the evaluation process and Schwitzer and Rubin (2015) write that identifying the problem is Step 1. In this discussion students will identify a work setting they want to be in, then reflect and explain how they intend to approach interviews in that setting. Will a structured, semi-structured or unstructured approach be the best approach and why? Make sure to add at least one peer-reviewed article not included in this course published within the last 5 years to support your response. You can use the eLibraryLinks to an external site. to search for an article. One database you can consider is Psychinfo, a popular database for psychology. To identify the client problem(s), what approach is your style? In other words, what theoretical orientation do you use to conceptualize cases and why? (e.g. CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic, Existential, Systems, etc). You are encouraged to add a peer-reviewed reference to support why this theory. How will you assure you will remain culturally competent during the evaluation and treatment planning process? Please relate your responses to the highest ethical standards. Need Assignment Help?
