Concept of Remarriage in Japanese

The Japanese people are very loyal to the observance and adherence to culture.

The Society is dedicated to upholding weddings as a part of the culture. The women gender is regarded as the home keepers, and they are expected to take the role of caregivers who take care of the family. The male sex is vested with the responsibility of providers who take care of the needs of the family. Most marriages are usually planned, and they were aimed at upholding the social status between the families.

Love was not considered between spouses. The primary goal of marriage in Japanese is the creation of the offspring (Embassy, 2010). Children and parenting are an important aspect as they carried the family name. However, it is observed that there has been a shift in the concept of marriage in Japan as many individuals are increasingly being divorced.

Divorce is usually done by mutual agreement. There is the presence of family courts who deal with all marriage cases and legalizes divorce. One of the reasons for divorce is the changing gender roles that are significantly evolving.

The women are observed to be shifting in their roles as the home cares who take care of household tasks. Many women are embarking on the career path.

Notably one of the parents takes the role of sole custody of the children as there is no joint custody among the Japanese people. Remarriage is a common trend as the couples are allowed to remarry after the divorce had been formalized. It is observed that women face a lot of challenges when it comes to remarriage compared to the men.
