Rework given Problem assuming a bearing-type connection with bolt threads in the shear plane (A325-N). Assume the plate dimensions to be 300 mm×13 mm. Bolt pitch (spacing) is 90 mm, the edge distance is 45 mm, and the bolts are 22 mm in diameter.

Problem
Compute the allowable tensile load for the single-shear lap joint shown. The plates are ASTM A36 steel and the high-strength bolts are 7 8 -in.-diameter A325 bolts in standard holes. Assume a bearing-type connection with threads excluded from the shear plane (A325-X).
