Assignment Instructions: Complete a description of dance styles for: Ballet and Folk Dance (folk dance examples are: Hawaiian, Indian, Korean, European "Character" dance, etc) in a 700-1050 paper formatted in APA style. Describe each style of dance, and include the following:
1) History and development of the style
2) Discussion of your understanding of the use of line, form, repetition, and rhythm in each piece
3) Description of the inspiration for the work in terms of story, theme, and image
4) Description of what the movements of both styles communicate to you in terms of mood
5) Description of what influences each dancer, or the choreographer, in the performance of each style or creation of a new dance performance.
