comparison of induction and dielectric

Comparison  of Induction and Dielectric Heating

After  studying the induction and  dielectric  heating  followings  points  may consider for  comparison  between  induction and  dielectric  heating.

a.The frequency  range in induction heating  is much  less than frequency  range in dielectric heating in induction heating  it is in the  range  of 100KHz. To 0.5 MHz whereas in dielectric  heating  it is in the range of 1 MHz  to 40 MHz.

b.Induction  heating is due to eddy currents  which  is induced due to mutual induction whereas the  dielectric  heating is due  to dielectric loss in imperfect dielectrics.

c.Induction heating  is basically surface heating because density for eddy currents is maximum  at the  surface. However  dielectric less takes place in the volume  of dielectric i ,e  dielectric heating  is volume  heating.

d.As compare to induction heating  equipments for  dielectric heating  are very  costly.
