Compare the required material strength and cycle efficiency

Use the Rankine cycle. The boiler operates at a 1000 kpa with a maximum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius. The condenser is isobaric and operates at -5 degrees Celsius.

a) calculate the vapor quality leaving the turbine and the specific enthalpy exiting the turbine (in kj/kg).

b) determine the specific-work produced by the rankine cycle turbine (kj/kg), assuming it is ideal and adiabatic.

c) show the cycle on a t-s diagram.

d) determine the specific work required by the rankine cycle pump (in kj/kg), assume it is ideal and adiabatic.

e) determine the specific QH for the rankine cycle (kj/kg).

F) calculate the rankine cycle (thermal) efficiency.

g) Compare the required material strength and cycle efficiency of this rankine cycle with a carnot cycle operating with the same TH (30 degrees celsius) and TL is (-5 degrees celsius) by calculating the percent change in max pressure and thermal efficiencies.
