Problem 1. Compare and contrast the different understandings of Chaos as we see it in the text of Hesiod and Ovid.
If Chaos took a human form, what would that human look like for Hesiod? How about for Ovid?
Problem 2. Gaia, Rhea, and Hera are all goddesses associated with powerful gods and each reacts differently to the actions of her partner. Briefly discuss the similarities and the differences between these three goddesses. Does any of them seem to you more or less sympathetic than the others? If so, why?
Problem 3. The story of Eos and Tithonus can be understood as an etiological myth explaining the sounds made by grasshoppers. In four-five sentences, explain what an etiological interpretation of a myth is in general and how it might here link the sad fate of Tithonus and the sound of grasshoppers.
