Compare “Tartuffe” and “Journey from the West” from The Norton Anthology World Literature (Volume D). Write an essay of 1000 words in which you make and develop a focused argument comparing and/or contrasting the two works. Focus on just one or two key points of comparison. Your essay can focus on just similarities, just on differences, or a mixture of both. You must have at least four direct quotes, but you most likely will need more. Most of the quotes should be brief with the focus being on analyzing the quotes, but you can use up to one block quote. You cannot use secondary sources in this essay. However, if you feel it is essential to use one secondary source, you must get my permission first before you use it.
