Write a 2 to 3 page, double-spaced paper (500 to 825 words) in APA format comparing and contrasting the Pennsylvania and Auburn systems of punishment.
Discuss in detail whether either system, or both, in fact were successful as a deterrent to committing additional crimes once the offenders were released. Is it possible to apply those same systems today, and would they work as a deterrent? Why or why not? Be sure to support your position with evidence and cite at least two external sources.
