Compare major myths-episodes in greek mythology

Assignment:

As you write, think of the editing help I gave you on your two Museum Reports. Read and re-read your work to eliminate errors and add clarity. Proofread. Avoid repetition. Proofread.

"Choose two major myths or episodes in Greek mythology (i.e. a major Homeric hymn or set of hymns, a substantial account or summary such as Hesiod, Ovid, Euripides' Helen, Apollodorus, or or a major episode in one of the Homeric epics). Compare and contrast the figures and events described in the two myths or episodes, and demonstrate how they contain important wisdom or lessons for an ancient and/or modern audience."

Our MLS book includes all hymns, as you know, some Ovid and excerpts from Euripides' play. Homer's works are either in your possession, online or in library. Apollodorus is online on Theoi.com, as is Ovid, but you also have a link to Ovid's works in your syllabus. Every source you need is either in the book, in Homer, on Theoi.com, or on the Ovidian website. (And there's always the library, if you like reading hard copy!) None of this should be new news to you.

If you choose to write on a myth you wrote about in your MR, please be sure to absorb and think about the myths on a deeper level. Compare the figures and events described in two myths or episodes, and demonstrate how they contain important wisdom or lessons for an ancient and/or modern audience.

Paper length is about 1000 words, or 5 pages maximum. Double space, use page numbers.
