Discussion Post: Classroom Observation
Becky Singley's classroom has a great deal to offer the novice teacher. She teaches her students to peer-edit English papers and uses a class Weebly that allows students a reference point for class resources, calendar of assignments, copies of class lectures and more. Whether it is a Weebly or a blog or some other type of online presence, teachers are having great success engaging their students and extending the learning beyond the walls of the classroom. Additionally, Ms. Singley provides an excellent example of how to question students to encourage higher level thinking.
Task- Complete observation reflection
Effective teachers always reflect on the lesson, and lesson outcomes. Listen as the teacher reflects on this lesson, and compare it to the responses you have written on the observation worksheet. Use both the teacher's reflections and your own observation when writing your overall observational reflection.
