Compare and contrast the structure and character of political institutions in the Greek city-states with political institutions in other early western civilizations we have explored to date in class. In your discussion be sure to provide specific and documented examples to support your arguments. After posting your initial response, compare and contrast your points of focus in your response to other students who arrived and different conclusions.

Posts Are Required To:

o Provide specific comments, observations, points of inquiry on the topic (not generalizations, summaries of sources or assigned reading materials, opinions, guesses, impressions)

o Provide proper references (both in text citations and a list of sources used) that shows both research skills and that you tried to increase your depth of understanding of the topic

o Provide and present scholarly arguments based on a variety of scholarly sources that serve to bolster and advance the arguments offered for consideration

o Provide meaningful observations that show thought, analysis, synthesis (not impressions, generalizations, guesses, opinion)

o Comments on a continual basis
