Playwright
This member of your company is charged with writing a short play complete with dialogue for (2) actors. Remember, a playwright is a storyteller. In most cases, he or she decides the idea for the script, characters, language, plot development, and themes originate with the author. The playwright selects the specific subject of the script. They must determine the focus and emphasis. They must establish purpose, and create dramatic characters. The playwright must also establish point of view or spine of the story. Theatre is action; make your story physically activated.
Presented Goal:
1- Write a short two-actor play, 5 minutes in length. Less then 5 minutes will result in a reduction of points awarded for the play. You may go over 5 minutes but not over 8 minutes in length.
I would like to focus on a script about domestic violence. But in general anything that you may come up with.
