Co-efficient of kinetic friction


Consider two blocks A and B of mass 250.0 and 50.0 kg, respectively, connected by a very light string. The pulley is frictionless and of negligible mass. The co-efficient of kinetic friction between block A and the incline is μk=0.1. Block A is moving down the incline with a constant acceleration.

A)Draw free-body force diagrams for each block.

B) Write down ΣFx = max, ΣFy = may for the two masses.

C) Solve the equations in part [b] to determine the magnitude of the acceleration of A and B and the tension in the string connecting the blocks.
