In thinking about how social scientists conduct research on interesting questions and phenomena, you are asked to construct a research proposal to test a specific hypothesis or theory in either domestic or international politics.
Research proposal should bear similarities to a standard introduction to a full research paper, introducing your topic or question, discussing why it is important, stating how you will attempt to answer your question or test your hypothesis, as well as detailing what sort of evidence or data you will use and where you will acquire it from.
While you will not be called upon to test your research question or test your hypothesis, Pick a topic, question, or hypothesis that could be plausibly tested and for which data or other empirical evidence exists.
Research proposal should be between 1-2 pages in length (see format requirements below).
