Production Concept Assignment
For the final project, re-read Anton Chekhov's The Boor and propose a production concept for it. The production concept should follow the following format:
Introduction: Clearly and descriptively explain your production statement. Explain how your concept is rooted in the text by CITING the play.
Body: Dedicate each section of the body of the paper to describing how you will use the elements of theatre (e.g. lighting, costume, acting, sound, music, set, props, accessories, digital imagery, etc.) to support your production concept. Refer to a specific part of the text to support every single decision you have made about these elements. Make sure that you refer to areas in the beginning, middle, and end of the play as you discuss how your use of the theatrical elements supports your production concept and your understanding of the play.
Conclusion: Incorporate a final citation from the play into a statement asserting why your production concept harmonizes with the play you have chosen and will highlight something enlightening or highly interesting within the text.
Project requirements:
Use MLA citation method and a works cited list. (See the sample given in the "Supplementary Files" page.)
Minimum word count: 1000 words.
