Circular motion is termed as when an object experiences the right amount of net force which is directed toward the center of the circle / curve. The net acceleration of an object in uniform circular motion is toward the center of the circle. The acceleration & the force causing it are known as centripetal that means center-seeking. Centripetal force may be provided to planet by gravity, or to a car by friction b/w wheels & the road, to a ball the tension on a string. Thus, the direction of velocity of the object is continuously changing toward the center of the circle, and the object is known as to experience centripetal acceleration, while its speed is constant.
