Mediation Theory and Practice Midterm Paper
Choose and discuss a topic in Mediation (to be pre-approved by instructor). Explore the issue and discuss current thinking. Offer a considered point of view. I will be looking for your opinion on the matter and your original thinking about the topic.
General Requirements:
-Minimum 4 pages in length
-Formatted with one inch margins, one and half spaced twelvepoint Times New Roman Font.
-Citations should confirm to the Blue Book and be at the bottom of the page.
-Must reference at least one scholarly journal article,court case or other reference material.
Papers will be evaluated by the following criteria:
- Point of View. Does it contain your specific point of view? (What do you think about this topic, trend, issue? Do you think the court ruled correctly? How do you think this will impact mediations?)
- Analytical Ability
- Clarity
- Flow
- Formatting
- Citations
- Grammar
- Followed Instructions
- Overall Impression
Note: Given the short nature of this paper, please limit the amount of non-original content. For example, provide a truncated case summary, rather than a verbatim copy of the court finding. Similarly, do not quote extensively from a published article. Provide the main point and then your perspective. Do not fill up your paper with extensive direct quotes from the Court or from journal articles.
