Problem: A child should cope by remembering the fond memories they had with their pet. An adult should find a way to comfort themselves and to help teach their child about the passing of their pets. A pet is considered family and so the pet is treated similarly with the same amount of emotion and grief like they would a human being. In society it should be recommended because it can be beneficial to help children understand death and losing a valued member of the family, but it can also help adults learn how to cope with their loss and to teach their own kids how to handle the loss.
