Final Project: Lot in Life Research Paper
Choose one of the following scenarios. The paper should be written as a content expert, such as a teacher, medical professional or counselor providing information to the parent or caregiver. Prepare a 10-12 page paper (excluding the cover checklist, title and reference page). Adapting to the selected case scenario, describe:
a) the characteristics or diagnostic features of the child’s behavior
b) background information addressing the issue (incorporate scholarly publication from library research)
c) professional intervention (such as counseling and medication) and educational interventions (testing and placement, teacher resources and training)
d) community resources
You should contact at least two local community agencies (not just Web sites) that can help provide information, training, or support about the problem. Include the contact/informally interviewed employee, specifics on how to contact the agency, summary of services offered and cost.
Paper requirements:
Incorporate a minimum of 6 empirical scholarly research studies. Articles should be current; no more than 5 years old. Summarize the content of the author’s research (methodology and results). This is similar to unit discussions requiring scholarly literature. Be sure to apply weekly discussion feedback to maximize project points. Please contact library services if you need assistance locating scholarly publication.
Remaining sources may be credible websites and books. Since discussions with community agencies are non – published/retrievable, acknowledge within your paper as an ‘informal interview’ or personal communication. Please review and apply APA formatting guidelines.
The cover sheet should include the scenario you are discussing.
2. You’re a nurse advising a patient on breastfeeding. Before release, she requested a comprehensive report on the benefits and limitations of breastfeeding. The patient would like to return to work relatively soon and wonders if there are federal laws to protect mothers that breastfeed.
