Great point that nurse leaders and managers are vital to reengineering processed in healthcare.
Changes are always taking place and becuase of that, the role of managers and leaders are vital to its success. Just recenlty we had a new manager hired for our area and she is very different than the last manager.
SHe is very structured and rule driven. It made such strict changes very uncomfortable to several nurses. One our nurses who has many leadreship qualities pulled all of us together and motivated us to try to help each other during this time.
The new changes were definitely hard to get used to but when we helped each other, it was much more tolerant and successful.
