The newborn was born at 25 weeks of gestation and weighed only 950 grams. He has anemia, hyperbilirubinemia, and acidosis of prematurity which we will continue to monitor and treat. Two days after the surgery, James is doing well and is in stable condition; therefore, he is transferred back to the NICU at Sinclair Memorial Hospital for continued treatment and support as he gains weight and strength.
